I downloaded the disc for the install that the camera came with. But when i try to transfer the pics to the computer, it will not let me do it. I am using windows vista. Does that make a difference. From what i have read there are other people with the same problem, but there are no specific answers to how the fix can be done. Thanks for reading.

The Nikon Coolpix S550 is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 5x optical zoom. E 'small enough to fit in your pocket anymore. Why buy the Nikon Coolpix S550? If you like the idea of a small camera, but I want a little 'more power to zoom pocket compact then many offer the COOLPIX S550 fits the bill in May. And the scores and the ease of use and comes with many of the most popular features like image stabilization and Face Detection for clearer portraits. Image Quality Nikon Coolpix S550 test shots Outdoor 1 (Medium Zoom) One thing that I like the Nikon digital cameras is the combination of color and brightness. They help produce vibrant photos as we have seen in my first test shots. There is a small amount of lost detail boats right image. This problem is destined to become a problem if you plan to make larger prints. Outdoor 2 (No Zoom) This is another decent effort. Once again, I like the colors in the plan. Because of the distant stage, is a blow to development, but the Coolpix S550 handles the scene well enough. Outdoor 3 (Maximum Zoom) zoom full advantage of focusing is not as strong as in the first two photos. The picture is much smoother as we move towards the edges. This is particularly evident in the trees and bushes on the right side of the photo. Outdoor 4 (Building) For my outdoor scenic shots I have a problem with the formatting options offered by Nikon digital cameras. Most other cameras give you the opportunity to select more than one focal point. This means that the camera sets a large number of points of law through the image and verify that they are under discussion. My belief is that it helps to produce the type of landscape shots where the focus is strong for most of the photos. Nikon usually does not provide this option and instead use a method of auto focus when the camera decides which areas to focus. In this framework, emphasizing once again drifts, especially on the right side. This may or may not be a problem for you. This depends on the type of photographs you plan to adopt or not and if you plan to make prints larger than standard size snapshots. This may not seem like much, but this means that most shots should be shaved to achieve a near true. ISO 400 and 1600, the Coolpix S550 handles noise quite well at ISO 400. Only in the shaded areas where the problem becomes apparent. As ISO 1600, noise can be seen through the image. Overall, if I could get better results with some focus testing to shoot farther, I was very happy with the Coolpix S550. Shutter lag was a photo on the slack side (0. 59 seconds without flash, 1. 72 seconds with the flash). Unroll a couple of consecutive shots was better (9. 83 seconds for 5 shots without flash, 12. 20 seconds for 5 shots with the flash). It took 2. 62 seconds to turn on the camera and take a picture. You can compare this camera to other models to check out the comparison table shutter lag. Style: The Coolpix S550 is a simple, no-nonsense digital camera. This is a fairly standard rectangular shape. It 'available in blue, black and straight. Dimensions: 51 x 88 x 22mm Weight: 120gBatteries: lithium battery. Both a battery and charger supplied with the camera. Nikon estimate you should be able to take about 220 photos between charges. Memory cards: Nikon has built a generous 52MB of storage space in the Coolpix S500. This is a lot to give the camera a thorough test. I could take 31 pictures before the memory is full. To improve the memory capacity of the camera, you should take an SD or SDHC memory card. Ease of use rating: Very good. As for Nikon digital cameras in general, you should not take time to find the way around. The design of the menu is simple and clear. Points I like: Ease of useWhere could be improved by focusing on a few scenic shots you an alternative simple, pocket-sized camera with 10 megapixels and a 5x optical zoom and Sony DSC W170 Soft. Verdict: The Nikon Coolpix S550 is an effective, pocket-sized digital camera. E 'bright, colorful images.
