I have two lens that I used with my 35mm Nikon F100 and I want to know if they would be compatible with the digital Nikon D5000 SLR-
The lenses I have are:
Nikon AF nikkor 50mm 1:1.4 D
Nikon AF nikkor 70-300nn 1:4-5.6 G

    Yes, although you may have to manually focus since most of the new Nikon entry level cameras use AF-S (with Silent Wave Motor) that assures super fast auto-focus. If instead, you buy a D90, all those lenses can be used in the auto-focus mode, no problem
    Until recently, most photographers could manually focus faster than the older “auto-focus” lenses. The new AF-I and AF-S lenses have changed all that and of course there are many new photographers that never had to learn how to focus quickly manually
